Founded by Rudi Penders and Luc Goris in 2006, ProSpeed Competition is one of the rare private teams with its own permanently staffed logistics, communications, sponsorship and legal departments. Team manager, technical director and race engineers are also a permanent part of the team.

ProSpeed Competition boasts its own impressive facilities with more than 1.500 m2 of workshop space, totally fitted out with state-of-the-art equipment. As one of Belgium’s leading racing teams, ProSpeed Competition has an impressive track record, with wins and titles throughout Europe. ProSpeed Competition have been an official Porsche Motorsport works supported team since 2008.

Luc Goris confirmed to Dm2 that the car was in fact the original Proton Competition #88 car (Chassis ZES..11) and not the new chassis used by the Dempsey Racing-Proton team at Le Mans (#77) as generally reported. Proton will most likely continue to use the new chassis as the #88. According to their website, ProSpeed do note the new 911 RSR will continue in the WEC program as the #75, driven by François Perrodo, Matthieu Vaxivière and Emmanuel Collard. It replaces the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR #75 used in the series to date.

The car is currently being rebuilt – “. . .and in a thousand pieces! . . .” according to Luc Goris – and will then be shipped to the Circuit of the Americas track in Texas, USA for the next round of the WEC series in September. The car livery has not been finalised yet. After the US race, the car will then go directly to Fuji (Japan), Shanghai (China), Sakhir (Bahrain) and finally on to São Paulo (Brazil) for the final round at the end of November. The car will finally return to the Tongeren workshops in December.
